You'll rise above the suburbs of this picturesque city as you board the gondola at ground level and then head above all the local highlights, such as the Port Hills, the shimmering harbour of Lyttleton, and the Southern Alps in the distance.
Once you've reached the top, you'll have the opportunity to participate and visit a number of different attractions, such as the Red Rock Cafe (a fully licensed venue ideal for enjoying a beverage and admiring the great views) or take a ride on the Time Tunnel (that showcases a reconstruction of the area's historical background).

- The Christchurch Tram is a unique, elegant and environmentally friendly way to see the city. Allow us to take you around the ‘must-see’ central attractions: get on and off as you please at any of our seven stops or relax while the tram takes you through the inner city
- The 1km track takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and encompasses the city sights, including New Regent Street, Cathedral Junction, Cathedral Square, Avon River, Art Gallery Centre, Arts Centre, Canterbury Museum and The Botanic Gardens
- Daily, 365 days per year, 9 a.m.–6 p.m. Summer, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Winter
- The shuttle bus service to the Gondola operates 365 days per year. Retail prices are $10 return per adult and $5 return per child. Departures are from Rolleston Avenue outside the Museum hourly from 9.30am with the last departure at 4.00pm. Returns from the Gondola to the city are on the hour from 10.05am with the last return ride at 4.35pm. You are required to pay the driver directly

- Each cabin can take four people and 440 people can travel from the base station to the top in one hour
- The Summit Station of the Gondola provides spectacular panoramic views from it’s elevation at 500 metres (1500 feet) above sea level
- The Gondola is open 365 days per year, from 10 a.m. to 5pm. The gondola continuously runs up and down the mountain all day
- The Christchurch Gondola Restaurant is open from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on weekends only
- Attractions at the Summit
- Red Rock Café: fully licensed, accommodates 120 pax and is open daily from 10am – 5pm
- Shop at the Top: NZ souvenirs and gifts including momentos, jewellery and clothing
- Time Tunnel: A six minute entertaining ride on an electric cart which takes you back in time through the history of the local area
- Walking & Mountain biking tracks (currently closed for safety reasons)
- Located on the edge of Christchurch, just fifteen minutes by vehicle from the heart of the city.

A Fantastic view from the top of the gondola Cafe.
We can see the Christchurch city on the gondola plus some sheep's eating grass when we look down from gondola. When we arrive at the top, the views are so great. We can see both views of Christchurch and Lyttleton while we enjoy food in the Café. Recommend it for locals and passengers.
